How To Make A Resume
Not sure how to craft a perfect resume? That's why we created FreeResumeBuilder.org to help you out. We'll guide you through the process from start to finish, but you'll need to know what information to have handy to fill in the forms before you get started. This will make the process go smoothly and quickly and you'll have your resume generated before you know it.
First you'll need to have your basic information handy—this includes your address, telephone number, and email address. Without contact information, potential employers can't get a hold of you to schedule a job interview or ask you for further information. It's important to put down an email address you actually check. You may want to also choose one which sounds professional—like your first initial and last name at a domain name. Provide a telephone number where you can easily be reached. Most employers don't use snail mail anymore to contact potential employees for an interview, but they do use snail mail to send out employment paperwork.
Next you'll need to fill out information on your education and your certifications. You'll need to type in the name of your school, the year you completed your education, your major and the level of your degree. We make it easy for you to add more education and certificate fields. Don't have any certifications? You can easily skip this or any other step in the process. We recommend filling in every field that you can, though. While you don't want to make a very long resume (several pages at most!), you do want your resume to include all pertinent information.
Your work experience is probably the most important section of your resume. This is where you'll have an opportunity to describe your job duties at past professions. You'll need to have your start and end dates handy, and it's good to include contact information for the company where you worked. When you describe your job duties, don't just state what you did each day—state what you did for the company where you worked. How did you go above and beyond the call of duty? Did you receive special recognition at any point for your work? How did you make the workplace run more efficiently? What makes you better than the next candidate? What makes you indispensable?
Once you fill in all the fields, we'll automatically generate a resume for you in Microsoft Word®. You can then either print out your new resume and use it as it is (or email the document to employers), or you can continue to polish your resume and perfect it. Whether you use our tool to generate your finished resume or to generate a starting point for your resume, we'll make the process fast and easy. Applying for jobs is a time-consuming process, and we're here to keep you from wasting time which you can spend searching for jobs. Good luck getting your next job with your new resume from FreeResumeBuilder.org.
