Managed Project to modernize office building. Drafted layout of departmental areas and space allocation. Obtained, analyzed and recommended quotes to management for construction labor and materials for new office fixtures. Supervised an in-house work team and coordinated contractor schedules for completion of project. Coordinated removal of above and below ground storage tanks and planned for asbestos abatement according to Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) standards. Actively assisted in project managers in recommending building layout and machinery arrangement to maximize future operation business efficiency.
Designer-Checker (1970 – 1988)
Prepared forging, casting and machining drawings of cast iron, steel, aluminum and super alloys for the manufacturing of complex turbo chargers and various diesel engine parts. Design required consideration of air and oil feed lines for bearing sealing and lubrication of rotating parts. Diesel engine design responsibilities included layout, checking of piping, sheet metal and welded fabrications. Some drawings involved layout of electrical conduit, wire diagramming, and electrical paneling according to engineered specifications. Developed a working knowledge of geometric tolerance.
