Our job at the what they like to drink, where they like to sit, how they like their steak cooked, and even their favorite dessert. We must wait on them in a timely manner, and everything has a system to it. This job has given me great communication skills and has taught me valuable customer service skills.
2006 – Osterman Jewelers
At Osterman we also focused on customer service. We had to learn everything there is to know about diamonds and jewelry sales. I was always one on one with my customers and it was up to me to close the sale. This taught me excellent communication and persuasive skills. We also had to complete credit application quotas for each day. I also participated in inventory, answered the phones, submitted customer jewelry to our repair shop, and cleaned jewelry.
2003 – 2005 – Rue 21
Rue 21 is a retail outlet store. Here I sold clothing, shoes, accessories, fragrances, etc. I dealt with customers on a daily basis whether I was walking around the store helping customers find something or checking them out at the counter. I also had other responsibilities such as keeping the store neat, setting out new merchandise, promoting a new product, such as a perfume, stocking, taking out the trash, fitting room duty, or staying after work to put up a new wall set.
2003 – Aeropostle
Aeropostle is also a retail outlet. I sold clothing, shoes, bathing suits, accessories, etc. I walked around the store assisting customers in need, provided them with a fitting room, kept the store neat, stocked new merchandise, and checked customers out at the cash register.
